Radiant Logistics Boosts Service to Shippers with Crown Data Systems Buffalo, NY – February 2, 2010 – Radiant Logistics has aligned with Crown Data Systems to leverage the company’s ability to receive electronic shipment tracking information from domestic trucking partners. Through Radiant’s trucking partners using Crown’s dispatch software, shipment statuses are immediately sent to Radiant’s computer systems. Shipment data populates Radiant’s global tracking system in near real-time, since many Crown users are providing their drivers with Crown’s 2-way data solution through Nextel. Without EDI interfaces, the traditional industry method of phone calls, faxes and emails to track shipments was the norm. “Radiant Global Logistics operating the brands of Adcom Worldwide and Airgroup remain committed to delivering our client’s world class transportation and data solutions”, said Noel Howard, Vice President, Domestic Services of Radiant. “Via the Crown Data Systems platform Radiant is able to leverage the network of Crown users to extend electronic data gathering efforts. This coupled with our existing footprint of 70+ locations positions Radiant Global Logistics as an on-time carrier with real time data.” “As we continue our commitment to data management we seek electronic methods and partners to expedite visibility to the consumer level” adds Howard. “Crown Data Systems creates that extension, keeping our customers in touch at each shipment milestone. These methods produce comfort, security and visibility whether a client tenders a single shipment or thousands of shipments in a distribution.” “Having the last mile shipment statuses and PODs quickly available from trucking companies to their freight forwarding clients continues to be a challenge as freight forwarders work to incrementally improve service with their shipping customers” said Bruce McLelland, Sale Manager for Crown. “The same efficiencies that have emerged through the automation Crown has provided to our trucking customers over the years are now being leveraged for the benefit of the overall industry with partners such as Radiant.” About Radiant Logistics Through its subsidiaries, Radiant Logistics offers its customers domestic and international freight forwarding and an expanding array of value added supply chain management services, including order fulfillment, inventory management and warehousing. Operating under the Airgroup and Adcom Worldwide brands, Radiant services a diversified account base including manufacturers, distributors and retailers through approximately 70 offices located across North America and a network of independent carriers and international partners strategically positioned around the world. Crown Data’s Software Now Electronically Importing Delivery Orders from DB Schenker USA Buffalo, NY – July 10, 2009 – DB Schenker USA, previously BAX Global, is now active with electronic alerting via Crown Data systems’ newest EDI interface. DB Schenker's delivery manifest can now electronically import into Crown’s flagship enterprise software, CFM. Trucking companies operating on Crown are saving a tremendous amount of time by eliminating the need to manually enter shipment information. Electronically importing the information into CFM also reduces error related to data entry. Prior to the new interface, customers were receiving the delivery manifest and individually entering the orders manually into the CFM shipment entry system. Crown's CFM electronic alerting interface is built for easy access from the automated dispatch screen and changes colors to notify Crown users when a new alert has been received by participating forwarders. Once accepted, the delivery orders will automatically move to the dispatch screen. Crown Data Systems will program the electronic message, often referred to as a 211 message, with any large to mid-size national freight forwarder willing to participate. Forwarders benefit by having an electronic message sent back that the order is in the trucking company’s system and the alert has been accepted. “As companies continue to streamline their operations in today’s changing economy, manual labor that can be automated is a clear winner” says Mike King, CEO of Crown Data Systems. “Our customers are relying on Crown to establish all possible EDI interface opportunities with shippers to accomplish this goal”. Crown Freight Manager Version 5.9 Released Buffalo, NY – January 15, 2009 – Crown Data Systems is pleased to announce the successful release of Crown Freight Manager (CFM) Version 5.9. CFM Version 5.9 added many enhancements to the air and expedited freight trucking software. Much of the focus in the upgrade was on improving dispatch screen, reporting and 2-way mobile data. Also, shipment change logs and the mobile data change logs have been expanded for improved internal auditing of events. The dispatch screen has been further developed to save dispatchers time by reducing key strokes. Bulk selection changes have expedited the assignment of both status changes to shipments, sending information to a driver’s mobile data unit and handling transfer/sweep drivers. The reporting capabilities have been expanded to allow for more critical sorts and additional information on key reports. Crown Data Systems has consistently released new versions of CFM throughout the years to ensure that customers have the tools they need in the competitive trucking industry. Most of the enhancements to the product come from ideas that our customers provide through their day to day usage of CFM. “Crown considers the ongoing development of our products a primary objective as we look to the future” says Dana Van Tassel, president of Crown Data Systems. “We know our customer depend on us to deliver the technologies they require to control overhead and seek new business opportunities” he added. AIT’s Quality Assurance Program Enhanced by Crown EDI Buffalo, NY – August 7, 2008 – AIT Worldwide Logistics recently launched their Agent Service Center Quality Assurance Program in their ongoing effort to get prompt and accurate status updates to their clients. Working with Crown Data Systems, an EDI interface has been created to update AIT statuses directly from Crown’s trucking software. Status updates, including Recovered (Recovd), Out for Delivery (OFD) and Proof of Delivery (POD), are updated automatically in real-time as dispatchers and drivers change the status within the Crown system. AIT receives shipment statuses much faster and trucking companies have eliminated the burden of duplicate entry. The EDI interface is able to electronically send scanned images to the AIT server as well. “Providing superior service to our shipping customers is our main objective” said Aidan Oliver, Manager – Field Operations for AIT Worldwide. “After finding that many of our agents were already utilizing Crown’s software, the EDI interface has become an important part of our effort to provide shippers with the timely information they demand”. “Our customers that are partnered with AIT are very excited to have the ability to electronically communicate to AIT directly from their Crown technologies.” said Dana Van Tassel, president of Crown Data Systems. “Crown users have reduced a significant amount of manual data entry while recognizing that they are in a much better position to maintain the standards of AIT’s Quality Assurance Program.” AIT’s Quality Assurance Program has been evolving for a period of time through the utilization of their web-based technology, Agent Service Center (ASC). The ASC application has been very successful in providing their entire trucking agent base an effective tool to electronically send shipment statuses and charges back to AIT throughout the day. Crown’s powerful dispatch software is now able to communicate with AIT to provide the statuses through a simple update by dispatchers as shipments are recovered or marked out for delivery. Drivers are able to enter PODs into 2-way data mobile devices, all resulting in getting critical shipment data to shippers in real-time. Crown Data and Lynden Create Real-time Shipment Tracking Buffalo, NY – Lynden International is focusing on gathering POD data as quickly as possible – and Crown Data Systems has responded by establishing an EDI interface to facilitate the immediate flow of real-time shipment tracking information from the consignee’s sign-off to Lynden’s tracking systems. “Having the last mile PODs quickly available to our operations personnel is one of our biggest ongoing challenges as we work to incrementally improve service with our shipping customers” said Howard Hales, Senior Manager World Wide Communications Center. Lynden views the partnership with Crown as a significant step forward in accomplishing this goal. The company continues to seek out trucking agents that can provide quality service along with proactively feeding the tracking data electronically. It’s a win for all parties – no additional labor for the trucking companies, no labor at all for Lynden – and the data populates Lynden’s global tracking system in near real-time, since many Crown users are providing their drivers with Crown’s 2-way data solution through Nextel. “The IT investments already made by companies like Lynden and over 100 industry truckers are now coming together,” said Howard. “We save money, the trucking companies save money… but the real winners will be our customers.” “Crown customers that are servicing Lynden stations have been requesting this capability for some time now” adds Bruce McLelland, Sales Manager of Crown Data Systems. “The Lynden partnership is an important step forward as we continue to expand the usage of EDI interfaces within the freight forwarding community.” Plans are in the works for completing an EDI interface for receiving order alerts from Lynden’s shipment processing system to Crown trucking customers electronically.
