General Hardware Specifications

Crown Freight Manager v. 5 software operates on Windows 2000 Server Operating System or higher.  Customers are likely to have other programs they will be utilizing with the Windows system and should provide that information to the hardware provider for further configuration recommendations.

Note: 2003 SBS does not support Terminal Services running in Application Server Mode.  An additional Windows 2003 server will need to be put in place to handle remote access.

Note: XP Home, XP Media Center Edition, XP Media Center Edition 2005, Windows Vista Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium are not supported operating systems for use with the Crown Freight Manager.  These versions of Windows are not suitable for a business networked environment and provide an unstable platform for the Freight Manager application.

Additional Requirements

1)       At least 1 networked / shared Laser quality printer

2)       A copy of Symantec’s PCAnywhere, RAdmin, or GotoMyPC software installed – this will give Crown Data the ability to support the software remotely.

3)       The network must support at least 100 MB of bandwidth (all hubs and routers purchased after 2000 will meet this requirement)

 

 

Utilization of Existing Hardware

Existing PC’s may be considered for utilization as CFM workstations with a minimum of a 1GHZ processing speed.  Servers can be considered that are at least 1 GHz.  Utilization of existing hardware and performance will depend on the number of users of CFM.  Any utilization of existing Hardware may need an operating system upgrade or hardware upgrades prior to installation of the Crown Fright Manager and its related software.
